The key to our ‘Happiness’
All over the world people keep on running from the first light to late night in the search of happiness. That particular job, that special person. We try to derive our happiness from them. Still deep down we never feel completely happy. Why ? Let’s dig into this mystery with help of scientific tools.
We know our universe is manifestation of energy.
“The law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed.”
In other words, energy is just there. It just keep changing the forms. It is claimed that 95% of our universe consists of dark energy and dark matter. It’s nothingness. According to all popular faiths, God is synonym of this nothingness. He represents the dual force of singularity (Yin-Yang/Shiv-Shakti/Energy-Matter) and the journey from construction to destruction, change of states of energy is ‘life’. Every religion tells us God resides inside us. We are part of this universe. Our planet was formed from a star. Similar to the star which will explode someday to become black hole, we also die and change our form. The energy remains constant. (Soul never dies.)
We know all this. We know the ultimate rule of life is death. Still why don’t we just remain happy by default? We are part of something as vast as universe then why do we feel scared of worldly failures.
Fault lies in our evolution. “Survival of the fittest”. We were evolved to be the best one. During the process,we conceived the definition of that ‘best’. The strongest will be the best. The tallest will be the best. The person with thin nose will be the best. We made millions of similar scales. And then started measuring ourselves in those and surrounded ourselves with insecurities. We forgot that we are a form of energy. We are nothing but star dust. Kind of different alloys of a metal with different properties. And comparing with a standard is kind of unfair. Yet we do and remain unhappy. We keep entangling ourselves in those insecurities and land into never ending sadness.
Like Sun burns to give light, all our actions also generate energies. Positive and negative vibrations. Someone yelling at a person makes him/her tremble. Why? Because there are vibrations we cannot hear or see but they exist. The person who is yelling is full of anger, hatred or ego. All negative emotions. Even though one doesn’t voice it all it makes us sad. This is the similar to that unexplained bad feeling we have as soon as we meet some people. Sometimes even good news fail to delight us. And we keep on wondering why.
We have both positive and negative energies. We cannot nullify either. The balance of these is the state of happiness. Our insecurities and negative actions give rise to negative energies within us. They interfere with the balance. The imbalance overwhelms us and make us anxious.
For instance, I disagree when people say money cannot buy happiness. Money in our times can be same as wooden tools in stone age. Money gives us security. The feeling of being secure helps to maintain our emotional balance. But we need to know the limit. Desires are essential for development. Limitless desires makes us sad. If we become too positive (too content) we stop developing. If we become too negative (to discontent) we will not enjoy the success and remain unhappy which again lead to stop developing.
According to religious texts, the aim of our life is increase our wisdom. Wisdom to understand this balance. More knowledge gives us more maturity which helps us organize our emotions. This leads us towards the balance and to be happy.
We cannot totally overcome our fears of death or losing a loved one. We cannot control hatred. We cannot stop race to become fittest. They are very must part of us. But acknowledging these feelings avoid them to overcome us. To a balanced mind, positive vibes are easily recognizable. This is similar to law of attraction. We need to do positive actions to maintain and send positive vibrations in the environment.
Being happy is very important for survival of humanity. We are passing on negativity to our generations. If the balance is not maintained it will lead to more issues in the form of mental and physical disorders in coming generations. Our future kids will be distanced from balanced state or happiness. We our part of a greatness. We just need to realize that.
